The County of Los Angeles administers workforce development and job training programs across many Departments, the largest of which is run through the Department of Workforce Development, Aging and Community Service (WDACS). The County trains adults, youth and young adults, as well as seniors and the veteran population.

In addition to the workforce development programs managed by WDACS, the Departments of Children and Family Services, Public Social Services (DPSS), Health Services, Human Resources, Military and Veterans Affairs, and Probation each have their own job training and job placement services.

The County administers 28 workforce development and job training programs.

Bridge to Work offers employment placements for foster youth.

LA Trade Tech Partnership gives Vets supportive services.

The Family Self Sufficiency Program provides employment supportive services to government assistance recipients.

The Probation Department offers employment placements to youth involved in the criminal justice system.

Our Dislocated Worker Program helps those who have been laid off or lost a job.

The Refugee Employment Program provides job readiness training and placements.

Title V – Senior Community Services Employment Program helps low income individuals age 55 and over.

DPSS’ General Relief Opportunities for Work (GROW) offers employment preparation services to adults 18 and older.

The Department of Health Services provides training for future nurses.

The Arts Commission provides internships in the arts for Los Angeles County youths.
